Kelly Clarkson, the 2002 and first American Idol Winner is a native of Burleson, Texas, a suburb of Fort Worth. Since winning the American Idol crown, Kelly has competed in World Idol, recorded three albums, won two Grammys, four American Music Awards, three ASCAP Pop Music Awards, twelve Billboard Music Awards, three MTV Video Music Awards, five Teen Choice Awards, three Radio Disney Music Awards and many more honors. Kelly's 1st album, Thankful, debuted #1 on the Billboard 200. It featured A Moment Like This, the song Kelly sang when she became the 1st American Idol in 2002. Thankful also featured her hit single, Miss Independent, for which Kelly as nominated for a Grammy as Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. Kelly won two Grammys for her double Platinum sophmore album, Breakaway. She won a Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album and a Grammy as Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for the song Since U Been Gone. Kelly's hit song, Breakaway, was featured on the The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement soundtrack. The song was co-written by Avril Lavigne and Matthew Gerrard. Kelly either wrote or co-wrote all the songs on her third album, My December. This album, which debuted June 22, 2007, is certified Platinum.
In 2006, Kelly entertained the 2006 Winter Olympic competitors in Italy. Kelly also endorses Proactiv Solution.
In January 2007, Kelly made a guest appearance on the hit tv sitcom, Reba. On February 22, 2007, Kelly performed with her idol, Reba McIntire on CMT Crossroads. Kelly has signed a management deal with Starstruck Entertainment, and will be managed by Reba McEntire's husband, Narvel Blackstock. In 2008, Kelly began touring with Reba McEntire on the 2 Worlds 2 Voices Tour.
