The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot is the story of Mia Thermopolis, a teenager living in New York City with her artist Mom. After Mia finds out her mom is dating her (Mia's) Algebra teacher, Mia's life is further complicated when she learns her own true identity: Princess Amelia Mignonette Grimaldi Thermopolis Renaldo, heir to the throne of Genovia.
